Medical Services & Staff

All students, upon first admission to the University, during the orientation week, are required to register at the University Clinic. The purpose of this registration is to ensure that no student is deprived of urgent medical attention when so required. During the registration, studentsare expected to bring along two passport photographs, their chest X-ray films and completed medical forms. Each student is issued a University Clinic registration card with his/her number and photograph on it.

The University Clinic has been equipped with qualified medical personnel and all appropriate medical paraphernalia to cater for students' needs. When a student has a serious medical problem, the clinic will refer the student to appropriate hospital. Students with chronic health problems, such as Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Heart Disease or other potentially serious conditions, are required to establish and maintain a regular patient relationship with the University Clinic. The Clinic may issue “Excuse from Lecture” document when a student is found temporarily unfit to attend lectures on grounds of illness or injury. Such document must reach the Directorate of Student Welfare and Counselling Service not later than 8.00a.m. of the succeeding school day.
