Dean’s Welcome Remarks

Universities across the world are currently facing challenging times, as financial constraints arising from global economic meltdown are combining with massive increase in student population and societal demand for quality education. In particular, those aspiring to administer private Universities thus have to devise ways of addressing these challenges.

The Faculty of Education, Lead City University is uniquely placed to tackle these challenges. The template I successfully adapted as the Dean, Faculty of Education, University of Lagos from 1987 to 1991 is being utilised in this respect. This is the model of Originality, Entrepreneurship and Networking. It is premised on my conviction that institutions charged with the task of searching for and disseminating the truth should not lack resources.

Our various programmes are systematically strengthened through progressive continuous capacity building of both academic and administrative staff. Also, necessary mechanisms are in place to network with public and private sector agencies for the mutual benefit of all.

The Faculty of Education, well complemented with an array of first-rate academics and administrators, is a pacesetter in education service delivery. The Faculty parades the most vibrant and enterprising studentship.  It is a thing of interest to let you know that our degree programmes are of superior value and our products are emerging as the toast of research and work communities.
