I welcome our esteemed students to the Department of Economics, Lead City University, Ibadan.  Our B.Sc Economics Programme is specifically designed to expose students to concepts, theories of economic analysis and research methods, which have practical application in the global workplace.  It is also designed to develop and improve students’ understanding of analysis of data on socio-economic issues, using relevant statistical and econometric techniques in economics.  Students admitted into this department are advised to familiarize themselves with this handbook as it guides them on course registration requirements and outlines the rules and regulations governing the conduct of examinations in the department.  It also explains the mode of course assessment.

Dear students, I encourage you to make the best use of the resources (physical, human and financial) provided by Lead City University in order to be a source of pride and joy to your parents in particular and to this institution and Nigeria in general.  Congratulations on your admission into the Department of Economics.  I wish you all success in your academic pursuit.
