The B.Sc. Accounting programme Lead City University has full accreditation from National Universities Commission (NUC). 

The Department has turned out several hundreds of graduates who are now occupying position of repute in both the public and private sectors of the Economy . Some of our graduates have initiated, conducted and supervised research programmes in the field of Accounting and Financial Management and they have also provided effective leadership, at  management level in public and private enterprise with  rare quality of honesty, transparence and integrity.

The Department of Accounting and Finance has been in existence since the establishment of the university. The department offers the following programmes

- B.Sc.Accounting
- B.Sc Banking and Finance

The programmes are designed to equip students with essential theoretical and practical and skills needed for research and development in the field of Accounting and Banking and Finance and to empower such students with the needed requirements to offer services in business research and management.

The B.Sc. Accounting programme Lead City University has full accreditation from National Universities Commission (NUC) while the Banking and Finance Programme has been verified, By NUC for Commencement having met the NUC Benchmark.

The B.Sc. Accounting programme of Lead City University has been given full accreditation by Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) for academic session commencing from 2012. The ICAN accreditation is a confirmation of the earlier favourable full accreditation result of the National Universities Commission (NUC). The direct benefit of ICAN accreditation of the B.Sc. Accounting programme of Lead City University is that Accounting graduates of  Lead City  University will be required to write  only the Institute’s final professional 2 and 3 examinations. Graduates of the other disciplines would also be granted subject by subject exemption.

Head of Department

Adeyemo Kabiru Aderemi is a Professor of Management & Accounting, Lead City University Ibadan. He was born over 50 years ago. He had his Primary Education at Islamic Primary School, Lanlate between 1969 and1975.

He proceeded to St. Philips Primary School Ayetoro lle-lfe to complete his Primary Education in 1976. He had his Secondary Education at Ada Secondary Commercial Grammar School Ada via Ikirun in 1981.

He attended and passed out from the following Institutions, He holds NCE (Geography/History), B.Sc. Accounting (Ife), MBA Management & Accounting (Ife), M.Sc. (UI), LLB (Ife), LLM (Ife), B.L, MA in Peace & Conflict (Ife), and PhD in Management & Accounting.

He has wide teaching experience in Tertiary Institutions like Osun State College of Technology Esa-Oke, Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomosho, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and Babcock University Ilisan-Remo, His varied background has assisted him to contribute to knowledge in the areas of Management & Accounting, Business Policy and Strategic Management. Entrepreneurship, Law, Project Management, Conflict Management and Peace building.  

He is an External Examiner to many universities and tertiary Institutions. He has served as a facilitator and management consultant to many reputable organizations, professional bodies and some state governments. He has written a lot of books and published articles in Local and International Journals. He has over 50 publications to his credit and has published 5 books and 8 monographs. 

Prof. Remi Adeyemo has designed, co-ordinated and supervised the take off and accreditation of some departmental programs. He has served as the pioneer HOD of Management And Accounting, the Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences of Lead City University, Ibadan, and Co-ordinator of Part-Time Programmes of Lead City University, Ibadan.

- He has actually contributed a lot to the training of staff in order to improve their proficiency and performance.
- He is member of some professional bodies among which are:
- Fellow Chartered Institute of Management Accountant 
- Fellow Certified Institute of Public Administration, Ghana
- Fellow Institute of Direct Marketing and Institute of Petroleum Marketer 
- Nigerian Bar Association

He is a person with outstanding business sense who accepts challenges, maintain open and productive relationships with people and highly innovative in capitalizing on growth opportunities. Prof. Remi Adeyemo is active in other organizations and serving in various capacities which includes: The President Rotary Club of Ibadan, Vice President Wednesday Social Club of Nigeria 2014 till date, Secretary Honorary Member 2-DIV Army Officers Mess Agodi Ibadan. He is also a member of the following associations RANAO, Ibadan. Professional Groups and Lafia Business Club Ibadan.

He is happily married and blessed with children.
