About the Faculty
The Faculty of Engineering of the Lead City University is committed to the delivery of the highest quality engineering education based on a well-structured academic curriculum as well as systematic teaching and learning processes. In addition, we are involved in innovative interdisciplinary engineering research efforts which are problem solving in design and beneficial to the society in implementation. These are achieved through our state-of-the-art laboratory and workshop facilities. All these are targeted at providing our engineering students with in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to make productive impact in the development of the society.
The courses that are offered at various departments of the Faculty of Engineering include:
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Wood Products Engineering
Our engineering programmes are for minimum of five years leading to the award of degree of Bachelor of Engineering in different disciplines after the requirements for the award of degree have been satisfied. The entry requirements for our engineering courses are in accordance with the NUC guidelines for UTME and Direct Entry for Undergraduate Programme in Engineering.
The minimum admission requirement for Engineering is passes at credit level in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or General Certificate Examination (GCE) Ordinary Level in at least five (5) subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates are also required to have admissible score in UTME and post-UTME screening. Direct Entry candidates with requisite qualifications are also admissible.
